The New York Times App Reviews

330 add

Thoughtfully designed to scan or dive deep

I love this app. It makes it simple to digest the news quickly in bite sized morsels (morning briefing) or get into the meat of the story, where links to related articles provide context. Graphically clean, its easy on the eyes while delivering food for the brain. Its the first app I add to new devices; I simply do not want to ever live without it.

Great Ap!

Easy to navigate and superb journalism!

The (Current) Gold-Standard News App

Great journalism (although NYT typically leans a little to the left; you probably already knew that, but just in case), enjoyable and intuitive app, acceptable pricing.

SAL

Great way to get my news info on the run ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great National and International news

The NYT app is a good way to keep informed. The opinions vary giving weight to different aspects of an issue. As a Canadian I find it an educational way to see how America views itself and the world.

Excellent

This app has come a long way over the years. I use it every day and its a pleasure. Small suggestions: the image carousel at the top of the Top Stories list makes me think the stories are still loading. It has the same visual effect as when new stories are coming in so I find it confusing to see the image changing. Also, the list scrolling is a bit choppy. Your developers probably want to optimize this. Let them! :)

The only news app youll need.

A place of solace and perspective in a turbulent world.

All the new fit to print and more

Simply great saving articles is great so I can always catch up.

An excellent news source

When so much of the news in North America is segmented and biased I am extremely grateful for the NYT. The app is easy to navigate and the stories smart, well researched and thoughtful.

Simply Amazing

A definite leader in the category

The App itself is great...

... If you can only afford the content? The subscription prices are ridiculous; $21 a month for digital access. They offer 10 free articles per month - yes, MONTH. Thats insulting.

Awesome!

Like the title says.

I love doing mini crosswords

One of the best apps on my iPhone to date. Whenever a story breaks, I receive a notification. Its almost like being on FaceTime with the journalists themselves.

The best newspaper or magazine app out there.

The best content, the best organization and presentation of any newspaper or magazine app out there.

Best news app!

The only way I start my day!

I feel sad

The application is free but I have to pay for the news..if I knew that I would never update the app.

the worst usability

・Takes too long to load ・Once I use other apps, such as a dictionary, by multi-tasking and re-enter this app, it always reload whole article and I have to go back to the top of the page. ・Too complicated way to switch to the offline mode; I have to change setting and clear the task by double clicking a home button. ・Too much ads despite compeling to subscribe with payment. I expected to improve these problems by updating, but instead, I got new problems; ・Even longer time to load ・All the saved data has gone If you make us subscribe, you must improve the usability. For now, it is the worst news app Ive ever used.

Great content but just takes too long to load and update

The content is great and updated regularly, but the app takes too long to refresh.

落ちます。

iPhone3Gを使用しています。 iOS4.2.1です。 とりあえず、よく落ちます。 古いからしょうがないのでしょうか。 We use the iPhone3G. Well down. iOS4.2.1 Why not have the old way.

Irritating Ads

Here is my comment on this app which I sent to the NYT: I finally decided--after much resistance and not a little resentment--to fork over the money and subscribe to the NYT mobile app on my iPhone. I was quite surprised and dismayed to find an ad for something called Spyglass appearing at the bottom of my iPhone I side the NYT Mobile app? Is this legit? I pay for a subscription and still have to contend with intrusive and highly irritating ads??? How do you possibly justify this? Other apps REMOVE the ads after you upgrade from the free version to the paid version. Id appreciate an answer explaining this situation.
